Victory rolls, also known as "victory curls" are a hairstyle that was popularized in the 1940s during World War II. The style is characterized by large curls that are rolled back and pinned in place, creating a voluminous and glamorous look.
The origins of victory rolls can be traced back to the 1940s, when the hairstyle was worn by women in the United States and Great Britain as a way to show support for their loved ones fighting in the war. The rolls were named after the "victory roll" maneuver performed by fighter pilots. The rolls are typically worn on the top of the head, but they can also be worn on the sides or at the back of the head.
Victory rolls have remained popular in the decades since the war, and continue to be a favorite among vintage and retro enthusiasts. The hairstyle is often associated with the pin-up girl look, which features a combination of vintage hairstyles, makeup, and clothing. It is a classic look that can be worn to a variety of events like vintage or themed parties, or as a way to add a touch of nostalgia to everyday looks.
